When hopping onto my bike Thursday I just knew that my ride home was going to suck. My reasoning behind it was I took a trip on my bike to Taco Bell for lunch earlier that day and was sore as hell because it's about a mile away from the school and up hill. But little did I know what was going to happen was far worse than me being sore because of an earlier bike ride.
My right shoulder and the right side of my face slam against the asphalt. This eventually caused a black and blue eye and the inability for me to lift my arm. Next my face settles to the road and I being to slide, tearing my face from the end of my eyebrow to the edge of my ear down to about the middle of my cheek.
I eventually stop myself (hurray for the palm of my hands) and get myself off the ground. This is where I look behind me, there I find my roomie Nate and his girlfriend in her car (the line . First thing that goes through my mind was "Shit, I'm never gonna live this down," and I realize how true that thought was because Nate's laughing his ass off. He proceeds to get out of the car, by this time I've attracted the attention of a worker for the apartment complex and have also risen off the ground and picked up my bike. I touch the side of my face to see just how bloody I was. Pulling my hand away from my face I look down to see a completely bloody hand. Wiping the blood off on my shirt, Nate finally arrives to my side. He goes to the right side of me and proceeds to ask "Are you OK," but as soon as he finishes he spits out "HOLY SHIT!!!!" I attempt to move my bike and myself out of the middle of the road but to no avail, my bike would not move, front tire was locked... Nate offered to walk my bike back to the garage and the Apartment employee offered first aid which I humbly took.
I eventually clean myself up enough, the bleeding from my face was just the initial scrapes and stopped very quickly. I also cleaned up the palms of my hands and knuckles and start my trek back to my apt to fully clean up. This is where the real pain sets in because the adrenaline wears off and I realize the damage done to my shoulder. Because my shirt covered it up, it wasn't too badly scraped, but still enough to be noticeable.
